Croatian Engineering Association, Hrvatski Inženjerski Savez, HIS, is non profitable association that unites engineering societies in the field of technical and biotechnical professions, representing the interests of over thirty thousand of engineers working in Croatia and abroad.
The overall mission of HIS is to bring together the resources of the societies and organizations in engineering profession creating a more effective and valuable cooperation for the engineering profession in its important enhancement for wellbeing, safety and health, environment protection and quality of life as a whole.
HIS is contributing through its activities and services in better positioning of engineers and in facilitating the mutual recognition of engineering qualifications not only in Croatia.
HIS is registered as a legalized association with its seat in Zagreb, Berislavićeva 6&8, Croatia. It is the legal and historical successor of the engineering association: ‘Klub inženjerah and arhitektah Zagreb’, (Engineers and Architect’ club), that was founded on March 2, 1878.
From its foundation to the present time, HIS changed its name on several occasions, however, despite these changes and difficulties in the past, the mission and the general objectives have remained throughout more than 130 years. (more about: HIS history)
